Colonel Kittu was an inspiring personality who fought with wisdom and courage for the

freedom of Tamileelam. He did not only fight on the frontline but also sought the path of

peace by actively participating in talks with the Sri Lankan and Indian governments. The

people revered him for his compassion and commitment to social and economic

development in Tamileelam, as well as for the empowerment of the Tamil diaspora.

On his way back home from London, his boat was surrounded by the Indian Navy. To

escape capture, Kittu and his nine comrades blew up the boat and sacrificed their lives

for the freedom of Tamileelam. Their sacrifice remains unforgotten.
