May 18 - Mullivaikkal Genocide - 08.05.2009

The Sri Lankan army targeted bombs on civilians in Mullivaikkal, in the designated so-called "No Fire" zone. At least 242 civilians were registered to be wounded on this day alone. The vehicles were also hit by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). More than 500 civilians were waiting for ICRC transportation. The hospital was moved to the school. 45 civilians including 15 children had passed away due to succumbed injuries, unable to being treated.
