May 18 - Mullivaikkal Genocide - 10.05.2009

Following an attack by the Sri Lankan army with cluster bombs, rocket launchers and cannons, more than 1200 bodies were counted in the "No Fire" zone in Mullaithivu. Hundreds of injuries could not be treated due to lack of medication at Mullivaikkal Hospital, resulting in a further 378 deaths. 1122 civilians were injured due to the attacks from this day alone.
